The 2026 WTT Contender Almaty witnessed a significant milestone for Indian table tennis when Syndrela Das and Sutirtha Mukherjee defeated two national teammates to book their place in the women's doubles final. The semi-final took place on September 5, 2026, in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The pair from West Bengal, seeded third, overcame top seeds Diya Chitale and Yashaswini Ghorpade in a 33-minute match.
